Job Summary

AECOM has an opportunity for a

Trades Assistant at our facility in Alice Springs, Australia. The Trades Assistant performs maintenance; repair and renovation work in accommodation, office and industrial facilities. They’ll also provides support to trades and other personnel, as well as undertaking duties and tasks as required. The responsibilities of the Trades Assistant include, but are not limited to performing a wide range of tasks to support the organization in its undertaking of the OASIS contract requirements; support of trades and other personnel where required; undertake escort duties; undertake regular inspections and tasks within the individual's skills, experience, qualifications and certificate; perform planning of tools, equipment, assistance and materials needed to complete tasks; liaise with others to notify and organize tasks to be undertaken as required; ensure as much as possible that equipment is maintained to operate in a safe manner; report any incidents to Management as a priority; use of computer systems to record and plan work tasks; undertake all work in safe and professional manner; cable installations; RFC Support; comply with JDFPG and OASIS policies and procedures; and be prepared to work in all areas of Facilities Maintenance as required.

Minimum Requirements

  • Ability to safely undertake a wide range of building activities.

  • Ability to effectively manage time to achieve assigned tasks and activities.

  • Relevant experience and training as required.

  • Demonstrated ability to plan and organize tasks.

  • Understanding of EH&S procedures.

  • Able to work professionally with minimal supervision.

  • Current Driver’s Licence.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Training in appropriate safety procedures (i.e. Confined Space Entry, Working at Heights, Personal Protective Equipment, Lockout/Tagout, Working in Trenches, etc.).

  • Austel ACA Licence.

  • Forklift Licence.

  • Test and Tag.

  • Cabling installation experience.
