Job Summary

AECOM has an exciting opportunity for an experienced

Mine Electrical Maintenance Engineer in Carlsbad, New Mexico.

The successful candidate will provide direct technical support to Zone Maintenance Manager for the safe performance of Electrical maintenance activities. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to: providing direct technical support to the Maintenance Supervisor and mechanical and electrical craft. Provide support for the development of written instructions, procedures and Field Work Supervisor of Electrical Technicians. Coordination with other work groups including QA, Waste Handling, Operations, Engineering and Safety. Responsible for providing technical support of electrical craft while performing maintenance of Electrical systems, and Equipment. Additional equipment maintained includes aspects of Underground Electrical Facility Maintenance. Ensures Electrical activities conform to all applicable DOE, MSHA, OSHA, NFPA, NEC 70E, New Mexico Mining Code requirements and Site Procedures. Perform routine inspections of field equipment and provide craft oversight to correct any identified deficiencies.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree, or

  • Associate’s Degree with four (4) years of related experience, or

  • High School Diploma or GED with eight (8) years of related experience is required

  • The successful candidate will have strengths in low and high voltage controls up to 13,800 distribution systems.

  • Demonstrated proficiency with computer applications and work control processes.

  • Due to the nature of the work, candidates must be US Citizens.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Eight (8) years of experience maintaining electrical distribution systems. Supervisory experience is preferred.

  • Three (3) years of nuclear experience preferred. Full-time related academic training (e.g., degree programs, trade schools, vocational programs, etc.) may be substituted on a one-for-one basis for 2 of the 3 years nuclear experience.

  • Previous WIPP experience is preferred.
