AECOM is seeking a Technical Writer position for Crane, IN!
Review and analyze requests for deviations and waivers to determine the effects on production, configuration identification, operation, and logistics and document comments using iPDM or ePLM.
Prepare technical inputs for meetings such as Configuration Control Board directive.
Review and evaluate program management data, drawings and models for fielded systems that may impact technical manuals.
Analyze products including: repair standards, drawings, specifications, test plans, and procedures for the following systems: AN/SLQ-32(V)6, AN/SLQ-32(V)7, AN/SLQ-59, AN/SLQ-62, and AOEW
Review, provide comments, and recommendation for CDRL deliveries based on program contract Data Item Delivery (DID) requirements and program requirements for the following systems: AN/SLQ-32(V)6, AN/SLQ-32(V)7, AN/SLQ-59, AN/SLQ-62, and AOEW.
Analyze program support requirements to ensure that all requirements for ILS planning and implementation have been adequately addressed, and that planning adequately reflects known operational, design, and support requirements in accordance with current directives. The analysis shall primarily focus on Technical Documents, Maintenance and Training.
Develop and evaluate tech manuals (IETMs) utilizing approved WXM procedures, track changes and update manuals as they change, and communicate written and orally with all parties involved on the tech manual development and maintenance of the tech manuals.
Collaborate with the team to plan and prepare training plans and assist in developing training materials.
Plan, design, write, edit, proofread and finalize documents, technical manuals, orders, specifications, modification work orders, and test plans, procedures and results.Additional Responsibilities:
1.Interfaces with technical professionals in the writing, editing, and publication of various types of documents such as specifications, manuals, reports, plans, training material and presentations.
2.Researches a variety of assigned topics and develop writing plans and outlines.
3.Assists in the development of supporting materials (illustrations, tables, etc.).
4.Tracks and monitors flow of all documents from inception to distribution of final copies. Identifies and correct problem areas as they arise.
5.Provides quality assurance check for all document deliverables.
6.Participates regularly in department and company-wide proposal writing projects. May serve as proposal coordinator for large production efforts.
7.Utilizes appropriate computer software for document test production. Investigates and implement best ways to product documentation electronically.
8.Provides technical writing/editing support to other Company contracts when workloads permit.
9.Establishes and maintain electronic and/or hardcopy data library of documents and work order files for documents received for processing.
10.Performs all other position related duties as assigned or requested.

Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent, and 5-7 years of experience in writing, editing and managing technical documentation and operator/maintenance manuals for military systems and equipments. Knowledge of applicable military standards, specifications and test practices is required. Must be able to conceptualize, format, structure, write, edit and finalize technical manuals, orders, specifications, modification work orders, and test plans, procedures and results. Excellent written communication skills; working knowledge of word-processing and integrated software applications; organization skills and ability to perform detail-oriented work are required. Position may require travel.
Requires the ability to obtain a SECRET security clearance.
Experience with Logistics Product Data (LPD).
