Job Summary

AECOM has an exciting opportunity in Afghanistan on the Afghanistan - EAGLE contract for a

Lead - Mechanic.

Performs troubleshooting, maintenance and repairs on various pieces of wheeled vehicles/equipment, both tactical and non-tactical. Oversees tool room operations. Assist the Supervisor with work load schedules, sequence of operations, explains work requirements, procedures and assists with resolving problems. Conducts cross training for other employees. Ensure strict compliance to safety practices and support the AC FIRST Safety Policies and Procedures. Instills a safety first mentality within respective work areas and a culture that achieves low accident rates and minimal lost-time injuries. Adhere to ISO Policies, Procedures, and Work Instructions in support of the AC FIRST Quality Management System. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

Clearance Required:

a) NACI / Tier 1 for US Citizens and PCC for Non US Citizens

Education:

a) High School diploma or equivalent required.

b) Full or partial ASE certification, preferred.

c) US Army MOS 91B or equivalent preferred.

d) Work experience may be substituted for educational requirements and/or educational achievements may be substituted for years of experience. Example: Two (2) years of experience is equivalent to (2) years of college and vice versa.

Experience:

a) 4-5 years’ experience as a mechanic is required.

b) DS/GS/FL/SL level preferred.

c) Work experience may be substituted for educational requirements and/or educational achievements may be substituted for years of experience. Example: Two (2) years of experience is equivalent to (2) years of college and vice versa.

Preferred Qualifications

Specialized knowledge and skills:

a) Must be able to pass General Trade Skill PQS within 30 days of hire.

b) Must have knowledge of diesel engines.

c) Must have the ability to analyze and interpret US Army Technical Manuals with relation to vehicle maintenance and repair.

d) May be required to obtain a military driver’s license (OF 346).

e) Must be able to function with a basic level of the English language, both oral and written.

f) Valid driver’s license is required.
