Job Summary


Purpose and Scope:

Assists the Site Manager with the supervision and coordination of activities of operational managers that orchestrate shipping and receiving, kitting, inventory, warehousing and quality assurance activities. Ensures compliance with AECOM and client policies and procedures regarding the acceptance, storage, maintenance, inventory, transportation, issue and release of material. In the absence of the Site Manager, acts as the Site Manger performing duties as required to ensure continuity of operations. Reports to the Site Manager for all day to day taskings and direction on prioritization of efforts.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Determines work procedures, prepares work schedules, and expedites workflow.

  • Issues written and oral instructions.

  • Assigns duties and examines work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures.

  • Studies and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency of subordinates.

  • Maintains harmony among workers.

  • Prepares composite reports from individual reports of subordinates.

  • Examines errors and develops solutions to complaints.

  • Visits job sites to insure all safety precautions are being implemented.

  • Inspects work sites during and after completion to determine quality and completeness.

  • Reviews all work orders, labor time sheets and material requests for accuracy before submitting these for action.

  • Makes recommendations to the Site Manager for maintenance, repairs, improvements and enhancements to the client’s facility to improve operational efficiency and mission accomplishment.

  • Oversees the scheduling of maintenance and preparation of vehicles and material handling equipment in accordance with procedures and requirements promulgated by the client.

  • Maintains experience in warehouse operations including acceptance, storage, maintenance, inventory, and the release of all merchandise and property within the facility.

  • Performs all duties required of the Site Manager in their absence.

  • Prepares reports, briefs and correspondence as required in support of operations.

  • Makes recommendations to the Site Manager to improve processes and protocols that will better the support to the client’s operational requirements.

  • In accordance with the contract, all personnel performing work require United States citizenship or acceptable proof of naturalization prior to employment.

Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.

Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands :

The daily working environment includes work within both a typical climate controlled office environment as well as a typical warehouse environment where climate control is limited. Operations in the work facility necessitate the requirement for certain personal protective equipment including safety shoes/boots and eye protection. Duties may include occasional lifting up to 20 pounds, prolonged sitting during computer use, and continual use of visual/speech/hearing abilities, mental alertness and the use of planning and organizational skills.

Minimum Requirements

Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

Must have/possess:

  • At least 3-5 years’ experience in warehousing operations supporting inventory, storage, shipping and receiving of aircraft related parts and components.

  • Related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • The ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, standard operating procedures, and procedural manuals.

  • The ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discount, interest, commissions proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.

  • The ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

  • The ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; working knowledge with word-processing, database, spreadsheet programs and integrated software applications are required.

  • Keen organizational skills and show a demonstrated ability to perform in a highly detail-oriented tremendously fast paced work environment.

  • A comprehensive understanding of Lean Manufacturing Principles

  • A comprehensive understanding of Quality Systems to include ISO 9001-2008 and AS9120 and key process improvements to achieve a desired output.

  • Experience in creating, observing and managing operational metrics to achieve maximum individual and organizational output and performance

  • The ability to meet or exceed deadlines.
