Job Summary

AECOM is actively recruiting for a mid-level Engineer (Systems Engineer) with demonstrated technical and programmatic skills in the development and management of integrated product/collaborative development environment systems and products. The IPDE Support position reports to the IPDE/Information for a Collaborative Exchange (ICE) manager and performs the following duties:

  1. Provide direct support to the PMS397 IPDE/ICE Manager in efforts to implement IT aspects of IPDE supporting the COLUMBIA Program.

  2. Serve as a subject matter expert to coordinate between contractor and Navy organizations about IT related infrastructure and development to support development of the IPDE tool.

  3. Interface with NAVSEA IPDE users (e.g. PMS397, SEA05, SEA08, Strategic Systems Programs) to develop strategies and IT procedures to support efficient implementation of the IPDE tool.

  4. Work with TEAM SUB ACIO to ensure network infrastructure can support IPDE system and information security needs.

  5. Evaluate and support transition of legacy submarine drawing based design and sustainment to technical data package (TDP) design and sustainment

  6. Facilitate timely decisions by cognizant team members in the review and adjudication of design products and written correspondence by the appropriate NAVSEA technical stakeholders such as Naval Reactors, Strategic Systems Programs (SSP), UK, and NAVY Field Activities in accordance with Ship Specifications to meet commitment completion dates.

  7. Establish and manage IPDE/ICE commitments. Track and report status of IPDE/ICE commitments.

  8. Attend weekly commitment meetings and other applicable meetings required to support IPDE Lead.

Other duties as assigned including but not limited to the development and oral delivery of briefings for senior NAVSEA and industry leadership.

Minimum Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering / Computer Science / Computer Information Systems or related field. Two years of job related experience may be substituted for each year of college.

Position requires a SECRET-level Security Clearance.

Work Experience: Minimum of five (5) years job-related experience in Systems Engineering is required, with specific experience in integrated/collaborative product development. Knowledge of Product Lifecycle management (PLM) software (Siemens Teamcenter / NX strongly preferred) is desired. Knowledge of the full software development life-cycle including deployment, training and change management is a plus.

Special Skills: Organizational skills, technical management skills, and ability to perform detail-oriented work are required. Self-motivated, possess analytical skills and be customer-oriented. Able to clearly communicate ideas to others verbally and in writing. Versed in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Ability to understand and succinctly summarize, communicate, and document technical issues

  2. The ability to use a variety of software products (e.g. MS Office, MS Outlook) and information systems (e.g. CDMS, CITIS, SWSNET, TeamCenter, CITRIX)

  3. Network administration/engineering.

  4. Knowledge of Product Lifecycle management (PLM) software (Siemens Teamcenter / NX) preferred

  5. Knowledge of Information Technology (IT) infrastructure
